abstract:

I used a very simple hello program as a sample case.
I however can compile and run C++ files ok. I am Just having no luck with C files.


I have recently tried to compile c files with DEV-C++ on my
Vista Laptop. I get the same results. It says the file gets compiled
but when I run the program, I get a pop-up window indicating the file needs to be compiled.

I would suggest that you look here.  At this particular moment it's the thread adjacent to yours.  Follow the links provided and absorb the information imparted.

That's because he posted to it four minutes after posting this!
Given that it took him only four minutes to do that, I am guessing he never actually bothered to read the existing replies - just bumped a two month old thread to the top without any thought.
