abstract:

now when i am trying to run the server it is not running.
I am running the server on linux machine. Please help me out ASAP!


Hey,
I was having problem with ibdata1 file. so i exported all tables to a file, shutdown the server and then deleted the ibdata1 file from the specific location. now when i am trying to run the server it is not running.
I am running the server on linux machine. Please help me out ASAP!

anyway, i read crash recovery, made some appropriate changes in my.cnf (force recovery etc) but still not able to run it ..

you know what .. i really wana SALUTE u .. .. u saved me .. thanks for this reference page and it helped me out.
the db is up again and running. but there is one MORE issue. instead of deleting those files, i renamed them and appended x_ before each folder/ib file. now i can see old databases (which i don't want) in mysql. and if i try to delete those i get error "unkown corresponding db's" kinda. (its not the exact one).
