Now with all that out of the way, the reason I posted this in the Game Development section because I wanted to get other programmers views on how we should keep all the programmers up to date on the client/server source so that programmers know what the others have worked on and what they are working on. We currently have a small system we are using but I thought maybe some other programmers have a better idea. So post away.

A copy with the Hiring request was moved to Project Help Wanted forum. You can find the thread here

If only i knew any of those things i'd be all over this like a fat kid on a smartie.
MS sharepoint protals have some pretty handy features for organising a project and comunicating.  you might want to look into that.

pumpkin_head: Python programmers are needed for the development of the client. The LISP (we will be using an implementation of Scheme) and Erlang programmers are needed strictly for the development of the server. You can choose which you like to work on, depending on what you know. Don't confine yourself to just a few languages, you should atleast check out Python (if you havn't in the past) to see if you like it. If you are willing to learn it, you can join the project while learning it and we will "put you on hold" until you are ready to do some programming with it.
To Python programmers: As of now, Stackless Python seems to be the language of choice.
Stackless is a faster implementation than CPython (regular Python), has language features such as continuations and concurrency, and also adds on other useful features.
Here is the Python implementations and their descriptions: http://www.python.org/dev/implementations.html

Sounds cool, I am always interested in learning new languages.  I've just never had a real reason to learn python... until now.  I'm crazy busy right now b/c i am moving in two weeks but I will defanatly look into learning some python in between packing and working

Can you post your looking for a programmer part of your post, in the Hire a Programmer forum! And link this thread to that one in your above post, and in your new post link to this thread. Otherwise I will have to move this thread to there. Thanks
We're using an SVN for certain information right now. It requires a username and password for now, it's meant only for those working on the project. We are testing various things as far as the server goes. No code for the game has been written yet. It seems that some things are being arranged still, such as how we will get started and who will be doing what. We do have someone in charge who knows how the game should be designed, he's worked with them in the past. He just isn't available as often as we'd like him to be.
You could move it yourself if you don't mind. It would probably be quicker than when DunkOrSlam gets back.

If you ever have the time to come work on the project with us, feel free to contact one of us. We plan to keep this project going for a long time, so you should have plenty of time. We don't want to make people rush into things to come work with us.

What source are you going to use to learn python?
